Chrysler Group has announced the plan to start selling the Grand Cherokee SUV in a diesel-powered version also in the North American market from 2013. After the huge success in Europe, the Grand Cherokee SUV, powered by VM 3.0L V6 engine, will be upgraded to meet the different and more stringent emission control regulations enforced in US. The use of these technologies will also allow meeting the European emission norm Euro 6 to be introduced in 2015.
In 2013, the production capacity in the plant located in Cento will be highly increased to support the large volumes that the North American market will require.
